NON-PHARMACEUTICAL INTERVENTIONS FOR BEHAVIORAL AND PSYCHIATRIC SYMPTOMS IN DEMENTIA (BPSD)

Abstract

Behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) are defined as a group of behavioral disorder symptoms and include: depression, aggression, wandering, abnormal motor behavior, inappropriate sexual behavior, eating disorders, repetitive questions, delusional thinking, delusional thinking, delusional thinking, delusional thinking isolation. The care of patients with BPSD includes pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. This review examined studies of non-pharmacological interventions published in the last 10 years. Twenty studies published during this period were included. Studies are heterogeneous in many respects, including sample size, interference, and means of measurement. Finally, non-pharmacological interventions are able to deliver positive results by reducing BPSD symptoms.
