Abstract

Abstract

Thalamus is the final relay of sensory pathways before their cortical projection. A thalamic stroke can present with a wide variety of symptoms, which can be potentially explained by the complexity of thalamic vascular supply and neuronal circuits. We report four cases of thalamic infarcts presented with prominent eye movement impairment. Acute infarcts of thalamus presenting with disturbed oculomotion can be challenging to diagnose, solely relying on clinical examination, mostly due to their rarity. Brain imaging is crucial for the diagnosis and localization of such lesions
